The Orphan Family Support Program (OFSP) is another support-based program designed by Alkhidmat for underprivileged orphans aged 18 or below. Under this program, managed under a comprehensive multi-module framework, orphan children selected for support continue to live with their single parent or guardians in the case of death of both parents. The program provides necessary financial support for the educational and everyday needs of the children and ensures their well-rounded physical, mental, social and moral growth through dedicated supervision. The OFSP also includes an Orphan Mother Care Development Program which provides single mothers with the religious and social guidance necessary for their emotional support and nurturing skills.
How we run the Program
For the selection of the orphan children to be sponsored under the OFSP, Alkhidmat relies on the network of its volunteers that operates in all 135 districts of Pakistan. These volunteers identify potential candidates and refer them to our Family Support Organizers (FSOs) who assess the referred children through personal visits and other means and prepare their cases along with required documentation before forwarding them to regional offices for further verification. The regional offices verify the authenticity of the provided documents and assess the cases on a need-based criteria through a local team of volunteers and community members. Finally, all the forwarded cases are discussed individually and approved for entry into a database that is offered to donors for sponsorship.
What you pay
You can adopt a child by sponsoring his expenses which is £20.00/ month. This financial support will be utilized for school fees and an allowance on a quarterly basis along with the regular provision of an educational kit that includes a school bag, books, stationery, seasonal uniforms and shoes.
What you get
As a Kafeel (sponsor) you will receive quaterly reports of each kid you have adopted. You may even choose to adopt more than one. The complete profile will be given to you and you can meet them personally if/when you visit the country.
